From Enquiry to Solar Panel Installation: What Is The Process?

If you’re considering solar panels but unsure what’s involved, here’s a clear breakdown of what happens from the moment of enquiry to solar panel installation to the day your system is up and running.

From Enquiry to Solar Panel Installation The Team At UPS Solar

1. It Starts with a Quick Assessment

Once you get in touch, we carry out a desk-based assessment of your roof using Google Earth. This helps us understand how many panels will fit, the orientation and pitch of your roof, and how much sunlight your property typically receives based on its location.

2. You’ll Get a Detailed, Transparent Quote

We’ll send you a full quotation by email. This includes:

• How many panels can be fitted

• The system’s expected generation (based on your roof angle, direction and postcode)

• How much you’re likely to save

• An estimated payback year

• A full breakdown of costs including scaffolding

• Prices with and without battery storage

• Full product details, including optional extras

The quote is interactive, so you can adjust it to suit your needs. You can add extras, remove items, and see how it changes the overall setup and cost.

3. Nothing Moves Forward Until You’re Happy

If the proposal looks good and you’re ready to go ahead, you can approve it directly from the quote. We’ll then arrange a technical survey. One of our surveyors will visit to check everything in person and make sure the original design works as expected.

The only reason the price might change is if the number of panels needs adjusting. If so, we’ll send you an updated quote to review before anything is booked in.

4. Installation is Booked

Once the design is confirmed, we’ll schedule your installation. Scaffolding goes up a few days before we arrive to fit the panels.

Importantly, we don’t take a deposit or ask for any payment upfront. You pay only once the system is installed and complete.

5. You’ll Receive Your Welcome Pack and Warranty

After the installation is finished, you’ll receive a welcome pack within five days. This includes:

• All your system certificates

• Warranty documents

• User information and next steps

You’ll also be covered by a ten-year insurance-backed warranty for added peace of mind.
