This is essentially the sweet spot for most locations, balancing the maximum absorption of sunlight and the least amount of shade from the nearest objects.
However, other factors can influence the best angle:
Locations closer to the equator can benefit from a slightly steeper angle, while those farther north or south might prefer a shallower angle.
Consider the angle of the sun at different times of the year: a little steeper angle is helpful during the winter months.
If your flat roof can be shaded by nearby buildings, a steeper angle will minimise the impact.
